How to use the Law of Attraction - Rachel Devine
The law of attraction is a phenomenon that many of us have heard about and some are familiar with it and some people are not. It is the idea that like attracts like and that our thoughts attract what we think about into our lives. It is based on the idea that thoughts, words, feelings, and actions bring about circumstances in life and can be changed by changing what we think about. This is where the power of positive thinking comes into play, especially if you want to attract positive situations into your life. I have done extensive research into the law of attraction and wrote about it in my book, Discover the Power of the Secret Within. I will outline, in simple terms, what the law of attraction is, the steps for the law of attraction and how to practice the law of attraction in your life. The law of attraction is actually broken into 3 laws. Let’s explore them, and I will elaborate on what this all means.

The 3 Laws of Attraction:
Like attracts like
The first law of attraction is like attracts like. The thoughts you think and the words you speak will come back to you. It is like being in an echo chamber; if you yell the word love, love comes back. Using positive affirmations is a way to put great energy out into the vast universe. The law of attraction is a philosophy suggesting that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes.
Nature Abhors a Vacuum
The second law of attraction is that Nature Abhors a Vacuum. In technical terms, this is based on the laws of thermodynamics. What this means is that it is impossible to create a completely empty space because atoms are always bouncing around and immediately fill any empty space. Simply put, if you clear a space in your drawing and it keeps getting filled with other things, it is a good example of what this second law means; if there is a gap, something will fill it. The second phrase expresses the idea that clearing space in your life allows room for something else to fill it.
The present is always perfect
The third law of attraction is that the present is always perfect and all manifestations are happening at once. The present moment is the only time that exists. When we are worrying about something in the future or lamenting over a past event that no longer exists, we are not in the present moment and therefore can't be enjoying it. We are in an illusion unless we are in the present moment. Take advantage of this moment to manifest your dreams and goals. Additionally, making an effort to shift into a state of gratitude or appreciation helps you harness the power of this law, which begins with seeing and feeling good in your body, heart, mind, and spirit. Living in the present moment means being grateful for what you have now and being open to new opportunities that may come along down the road.
The law of attraction is the idea that what you think, feel, and focus on attracts more of the same. For example, if you want to attract a soulmate, you need to resonate with positive, loving thoughts on what you want your soulmate to be like. The key is you have to resonate with the same character traits as what you seek. If you want to attract more money, focus on ways to make more money and ways to keep it. Also visualize having money and what you will do with that money. Remember, feelings play a big role in the law of attraction. You want to feel happy and content with your visualizations of attracting money or whatever you want to attract.
The Law of Attraction has been an ancient idea, and the concept of attraction is the foundation of many philosophies, religions, and New Age beliefs. It all started back in around 391 BC with Plato when he said, “Likes tend towards likes,” which equates to “like attracts like.”
Believe it or not, Jesus was also one of the first to speak about the law of attraction when he said, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24
In this verse, Jesus basically is saying, as you pray you need to believe in your heart that you have already have what you desire. In other words, you need to think the thoughts and feel the emotions of the futuristic state you want. As per the LOA, this makes you a vibrational match to the thing that you desire.
Actually, it was William James who explained it in more scientific terms back in the 19th century. William James (1842–1910) was an American philosopher. He studied at Harvard University, where he became professor of philosophy and psychology. He is best known for his philosophical work, The Principles of Psychology (1890) and Varieties of Religious Experience (1902).
You may be familiar with William James and how he fits into the Law of Attraction. Dr. Wayne Dyer says that James is one of the most influential thinkers of his time.
William James was a very well-known philosopher and psychologist. James’ work on the law of attraction includes many ideas that are common today, but his original hypotheses were not popularly accepted until quite recently.
The LOA is a universal law, like gravity or the electric charge on a particle. It is magnetic in nature, like the ocean’s influence on the tide, with its magnetic force. It is an unseen force, like electricity, with its invisible power. LOA doesn't care whether or not you believe in it. You can reject it from your mind and deny it with your actions, but you can't hide from it, you can't evade it, and you can't forget about it. It is working in your life, whether you are conscious of it or not. It always worked in your life. The key is to have it work in a positive way. If you think back on negative experiences, you might correlate your mindset at the time as negative. If you think back on happy, positive times, you might correlate your mindset with being positive and happy at that time.
4 Steps to Use the Law of Attraction
Affirmations
Say positive affirmations several times every day and remember to feel what it would be like to obtain what you want.
I am in a loving relationship.
I am a magnet for money and it flows into my life now.
I have the job of my dreams.
My business is very successful.
I am healthy.
Visualizations
The next step is to visualize what you want. Just sit and see yourself in a loving relationship or good health and feel the feelings associated with being in that state. Do this several times a day for at least 10 minutes at a time. Also, surround yourself with pictures of the visualization, or better yet, create a vision board. A vision board is where you will post pictures and words on construction paper or a thin board that correlate with your vision for your future. There are plenty of examples you can get online.
Gratitude
Stay in gratitude. Write a gratitude list daily on things you are already grateful for and for things that you want to be grateful for. List at least 5 things you are grateful for daily.
Meditate
Before you fall asleep each night, resonate and use one picture in your mind of what you want to attract into your life and fall asleep with those thoughts, feelings, and affirmations meditating in your mind. You are going to resonate with those thoughts for 8 hours, and you want those nighttime thoughts to be positive.
In conclusion, no matter how you slice it, the law of attraction is a phenomenon that is here to stay. It’s part of the rhythm of nature. The question is, now that you have all this awareness on the Law of Attraction, what will you do with this information? Will you shift your thoughts, feelings, and speech to positive ones, or just ignore this and go on with your life as it is?
The choice is always up to you.
Don’t Quit your Daydream: 7 Steps to Manifest your Dreams - Rachel Devine
Life can take us down many different paths. We can go on a path of daily routine, day in and day out of doing the same thing. Or we can recognize a long-forgotten dream sitting on the back burner of our lives that can potentially change the course of our lives. Our hopes and dreams matter. However, sometimes we feel like everyone else around us is more important than ourselves. Self-doubt can also plague us with feeling stifled. I say, quit your daydream! It’s never too late to start fresh with any idea. You can manifest your dreams into reality.
Let’s get started and look into our daydreams.
Our dreams and goals matter. You deserve to live your life on purpose. I say, don’t quit your daydream! It’s never too late to start fresh with any idea. You have the power to turn your dreams into reality.
Let’s get started and look into how we can manifest our dreams.
1. Your daydream
Just recognizing a dream or goal you want to fulfill is the first step to attaining it. I had a manuscript on the back burner for years and finally brought it to the forefront and worked on it. I eventually got my second book self-published, called The Third Road. It was a great achievement and brought me from living on a path of daily routine to branching out to a fulfilling purpose in life. That purpose had a domino effect on other areas of my life where I was able to branch out to other areas with my writing.
2. Your purpose
We all have a reason for being born. It’s a matter of looking at what you love doing and what brings you joy. Your purpose is at the center of what you love doing in life. Your purpose has to have two elements: you have to love doing it, and it has to serve humanity in some capacity. I love writing and helping people, so that has been incorporated into my purpose of writing. Setting time aside to bring your purpose to life will bring you much joy. Just sit and think about what brings you joy, fulfillment and happiness that you love doing. Take your time with this and see what transpires.
Some ways to get started.
Do journaling to discover your purpose in life.
Read books, blogs, watch talks on finding your calling. See what resonates.
Research degree programs, workshops, coaches related to potential paths of purpose.
Volunteer in areas connected to your interests and observe how these experiences make you feel.
3. Positive visualization
Positive visualization involves intentionally developing a picture in your mind to practice the performance, feeling, or behavior you desire. The American Psychological Association Dictionary refers to this process as “mentally rehearsing” to enhance performance. Once you decide your purpose in life, visualize it daily. The power of positive thinking is not just some lofty words; it is a surefire way to manifest your dreams into reality. You can visualize what you want to manifest in your daily meditations as a good start. Positive visualization will keep you on track, as you move towards your purpose in life. Just picture in your mind what you want to manifest for a few minutes each day.
4. Manifesting your dreams
The most powerful part of manifesting your dreams is using feelings. Feelings penetrate the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is like the motherboard of a computer. It directs 95% of your decisions and actions in life. Therefore, it’s important to visualize the outcome you want in order for it to penetrate the subconscious mind. As you fall asleep at night, put one visualized picture in your mind of what you want to manifest. For instance, if you want to write a book, put an image of a book that you authored, as if you already wrote it and had it published. Then fall asleep with the feelings of what it feels like to have a published book. You would feel accomplished, fulfilled, happy, etc. The feelings will penetrate the subconscious mind for eight hours as you sleep. The sleep state is powerful because it is the unconscious state where you can penetrate the subconscious mind, where all dreams eventually manifest into reality. The key is to picture one thing as if it already happened and resonate with the feelings.
5. Positive Affirmations
Positive affirmations are positive phrases, or statements that are used to challenge negative thoughts. People can use positive affirmations to motivate them, encourage positive changes in their life, create a goal, or boost their self-esteem. Positive affirmations are a way to put positive thoughts in your subconscious mind, because they are repeated over and over again. This offsets some negative thoughts that get embedded in our minds. Living a life on purpose entails being positive and affirmations will help you get there.
6. Game Plan
Setting a game plan is imperative to achieving any goal in life. It’s a pathway to get you to your goal or purpose. Once you are able to establish a game plan, you can set some small goals in the direction of developing your purpose. Taking small steps to get to where you want to be in life is a good start. A ‘to do list’ will keep you on track with your game plan. Just list a daily plan that will move you in the direction of your purpose in life.
7. Turn self-doubt into self-confidence
Self-doubt is usually a culprit in stopping one from following their bliss in life. I was plagued with self-doubt many years ago when I started writing. It’s so important to shift away from self-doubt to self-confidence. You can do that by shifting your focus to doing good things for yourself. Show yourself that you are worth a massage, or an expensive dinner out, or flowers, a new outfit, or box seats at a baseball game. When you treat yourself with worthiness, that will carry over to build self-confidence. Take time for self-reflection in this area and put action behind the outcome.
When my self-doubt plagued me years ago, I wrote a poem as a way to help me overcome it. This is the first poem I ever wrote.
When you can feel the warmth of the sunshine but cannot see it.
Or feel the coolness of a gentle breeze but cannot grasp it.
When our dreams are just a fleeting thought, that no longer matters.
Remember to deeply reach within. To stretch your mind,
to awaken the real you, as you say goodnight to self-doubt
and the inner blindness.
Try your own poem, it’s fun and doesn’t have to be perfect.
Remember, you can do whatever you put your mind to. Just take baby steps in the direction of obtaining your dreams.
In conclusion, remember one thing. If you allow your purpose to flourish, you will be fulfilling a gift for yourself and humanity. You want to look back on your life in later years and perhaps see a legacy you left behind. It doesn’t have to be a big lofty legacy, just one that helped someone who needed it. Life can take us down many roads, but the road to fulfilling your purpose and manifesting your dreams, is the best road ever!

How to Heal your Inner Child: Awareness is key - Rachel Devine
Do you have long-forgotten dreams that you want to make a reality? Do you want to lose weight, start a business, find your soulmate, or get a promotion? Well, now is the time to move forward and make your dreams a reality. Make no mistake about it; you have this miraculous power within you to create your destiny.
However, there can be blocks to realizing your dreams. There is another power called the subconscious mind that is in charge of every decision, every move, and every thought you make in life. Most people have no idea why they have a chip on their shoulder, why they keep meeting the same type of dysfunctional romantic partner, why they have issues at work, or why they have deep-rooted resentments, and the answer lies within. Discovering this aspect of yourself with awareness will empower you to transform your life in a positive way.

Inner Child
Your inner child is your feelings, traumas, and anger that are part of the power of your subconscious mind, which has been picking up messages way before it was able to fully process what was going on (mentally and emotionally). Your inner child usually didn’t get their needs met as a baby, and this plays havoc in adulthood in so many ways.
Subconscious mind
The subconscious mind holds all your emotions, memories, experiences, traumas, and beliefs from the past. This dual force, the subconscious mind and inner child, drives your life 95% of the time! This is an astounding fact, and yet most people have no idea what is going on inside. Therefore, your actions, 95% of the time, are driven by your subconscious mind. Just to bring this down to simple terms: When you get up each morning and, as a routine, brush your teeth, eat breakfast, and check your emails, this is all done by the subconscious mind. Most of your decisions are also dictated by your subconscious mind.
Healthy or unhealthy
The big question now is: Is your inner child healthy or unhealthy? If you didn’t get your primary needs met between the infant stage and 7 years old, then your subconscious mind is not well. This means you could have relationship, work, or family issues. Having this awareness and awakening the inner child is the first step to healing. Once you can recognize what transpired in childhood, you will start to see patterns in your adult decisions and experiences.
Healing
Healing is possible if you change some of the negativity of the subconscious mind to one of positivity. It stands to reason that if you had any trauma from the past, it will get imbedded in your subconscious mind as an imprint and will unleash itself at different times of trigger in your life.
As an example, you may have grown up with some abandonment issues from a parent who was not there for you during little league games and other important events in your life. You may not have gotten the love you deserved. The child becomes angry but usually can’t get in touch with the anger, so it gets repressed. It sits in the body and subconscious mind. Now, as an adult, this person drinks alcohol and becomes violent towards his partner because the repressed anger is unleashed during drunken episodes.
Solutions
It’s possible to heal the subconscious mind by getting therapy from an inner child expert who will help you get in touch with repressed anger. There are also fear issues that are imbedded in the subconscious in various forms. Again, a therapist can help with this as well. Also, listening to some videos that help replace fears with love or those that help release repressed anger can also help. However, one thing is very clear: if you have anger issues or fears, they usually stem from the inner child’s past experiences. Even clearing one issue can transform your life for the better.
Manifesting for healing
A gentle and easy way to heal from inner child wounds is manifestation. It is a way to clear the subconscious mind of anger or fears. Manifestation before you fall asleep is a power technique because the mind is at its most powerful just as you are falling asleep. What you feed it can change the subconscious mind because you are going from a conscious to an unconscious state when you are asleep. This is the most powerful time. Your mind has 8 hours to resonate with what you put in it. You want to feed it with feelings of love if you want to overcome hate or courage to overcome fear. Whatever the adult emotional problem, you want to offset it with the positive opposite emotion. Manifesting is powerful.
Just picture an image of the positive emotion you want to inject into your subconscious mind and fall asleep with the positive feelings of the emotion. If you want to invoke love into your subconscious mind, perhaps fall asleep to an image of a heart and resonate with loving feelings. It is a way to change one layer of the subconscious mind so you will be able to reach your life goals of losing weight, being successful, or having good relationships.
In closing, awareness is the key to helping you clear up some inner child issues that can be causing havoc in your adult life. Once you have the awareness, you have choices on healing, from a therapist to perhaps a life coach to manifesting techniques. I suggest you don’t just walk away from this awareness. Rather, embrace it and start healing your inner child today so you can live the life of your dreams.
