How Defining Moments Shape Our Destiny - Rachel Devine

Certain pivotal events have the power to permanently shift the entire course of our lives. Understanding how these “defining moments” tie into quantum physics principles can help us appreciate how they transform us. A defining moment in life is a gift. These moments are a mystical blessing that come out of left field and literally transform our lives. I believe at the center of any quantum moment is the power of God giving us an opportunity to change our course in life. Let’s look at this phenomenon more closely.

I believe at the center of any quantum or defining moment is the power of God giving us an opportunity to change our course in life. Let’s look at this phenomenon more closely.

Defining Moments Described

Quantum moments have been described as surprising—unexpected, uninvited, and unforeseen. Quantum moments are benevolent; in other words, they come with feelings of peace, serenity, and bliss in a mystical fashion. The fourth quality of a quantum moment is that it never goes away. That moment is burned into our consciousness as a vivid picture that won't be forgotten.

Quantum moments are life-changing, if one is open to the message of the moment.

A Defining or Quantum Moment Transforms Lives.

Having a ‘quantum moment that is truly defining and life-changing refers to an experience or realization that profoundly shifts one's perspective or understanding of the world in a way that is transformative and paradigm-shifting.

The power behind such a quantum moment lies in its ability to shatter previous assumptions, beliefs, or limitations that had constrained one's thinking or perception of reality. It is a moment of profound insight or awakening that opens up new realms of possibility and understanding, much like the strange and counterintuitive principles of quantum physics challenged our classical understanding of the physical world.

A defining moment can come through various means, such as a deep spiritual experience, a life-altering event, a revelatory encounter, or a sudden breakthrough in understanding after prolonged contemplation or study. It can feel like the veil has been lifted, and one sees the world through entirely new lenses, with a heightened sense of clarity, interconnectedness, and expanded awareness. And to reiterate, the mystical power behind the quantum moment is God. A quantum moment can also come from being on a retreat, where you have the opportunity for quiet time.

This is Holy Family Church, where I had my spiritual awakening.

My Personal Defining Moment

I had my own sacred, quantum moment on Christmas Day in 1996 in a church. I was separated from my husband and was caring for my 4 and 10-year-old sons alone. Life was a blur from one day to the next. I remember lying in bed, feeling exhausted. I prayed for the gift of faith. It was a faint prayer that I honestly forgot about. Two weeks later, I took my sons to our church for Christmas mass. I wanted to feel the faith and warmth of my church that I had when I was a child. During the mass, I felt an enormous power swirl from one end of the church to where I was sitting and pierce my heart. It was an enormous jolt of energy that seemed to come out of nowhere. I had no idea what was happening. I just sat there feeling frozen in time, or, I should say, in the moment. A few minutes passed, and when everyone sang Silent Night, my heart was transformed into a feeling of peace that surpasses all understanding. I started to cry happy, confused tears. I felt like my soul was awakening from a long hibernation, and God granted me the gift of faith on that glorious day.

From that day forward, all I wanted to do was nurture this newfound faith. I joined my prayer group, became involved with the church, went on retreats, eventually directed spiritual retreats, did speaking engagements, and wrote several books that were designed to help others. That sacred Christmas day in 1996 was the start of my spiritual journey of faith, purpose, and helping others along their life’s journey. That quantum moment transformed my life. The shift brought me from feeling like a victim of life circumstances to empowering me to change.

What about you? Have you had a defining moment in life? Did this defining moment shape your destiny? Did it change the course of your life? Did you ride the wave to find out what it was all about?

In conclusion, by harnessing the currents of mystical change ignited by defining moments, you gain influence over your unfolding destiny. Pivotal points require a purposeful response to ignite a lasting positive impact. Don’t ignore these quantum moments. Rather, use them to shape your destiny and redefine who you are.

A life coach provides the support, accountability, and proven strategies to help you rediscover your passion, redefine your purpose, and transform your life in order to live your best life.

In Leo Tolstoy’s book, The Death of Ivan Illich, Ivan lived a mediocre life in a loveless marriage. He found himself with a fatal illness in his mid-forties. As he was lying on his deathbed he said these horrifying words, “No matter how often I may be told, “You cannot understand the meaning of life so do not think about it, but live it," I can no longer do it: I have already done it too long. I cannot now help seeing day and night going round and bringing me to death. That is all I see, for that alone is true. All else is false.”

Unfortunately, Ivan died with regrets over not living his best life.

It’s crucial to live your life on purpose and with meaning.

A life coach can also help you get through challenges in life, from grief, divorce, relationship issues, family strife, etc.

Let’s explore more details about life coaching. Let’s look at what a life coach can do to transform your life with purpose.

Grab the hand of a life coach to help you in your journey through life.

What is a life coach?

A life coach is a professional mentor who partners with clients to help them identify and work towards their personal and professional goals. Unlike a therapist who focuses on past traumas, a life coach takes a forward-looking approach, empowering you to create an actionable roadmap for success. Through one-on-one sessions, a life coach acts as your personal cheerleader, strategist, and accountability partner. A life coach is also a mentor when life’s problems arise, helping you to cope and get through these challenging times.

A life coach offers hope.

What are the benefits of life coaching:

  1. Gain Clarity and Focus: Life coaches help you gain clarity on your values, priorities, and aspirations, enabling you to set meaningful goals and stay focused on what truly matters.

  2. Overcome Obstacles and Limiting Beliefs: By identifying and challenging self-limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns, a life coach equips you with the tools to overcome obstacles and break through barriers that have been holding you back.

  3. Develop Effective Strategies: Life coaches provide personalized strategies and action plans tailored to your unique circumstances, ensuring you have a clear roadmap to achieve your desired outcomes.

  4. Enhance Accountability: Regular check-ins and accountability measures help you stay on track, motivated, and committed to your goals, increasing your chances of success.

  5. Improve Work-Life Balance: With a life coach's guidance, you can learn to prioritize self-care, set healthy boundaries, and create a harmonious balance between your personal and professional lives.

  6. Help in overcoming obstacles in life: A life coach can walk with you during difficult times and give you fresh insights into overcoming obstacles in life. The obstacles might be the grief from the loss of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job, relationship issues, etc.

Transform your life with a life coach.

How life coaching can Transform Your Life:

Life coaching is a transformative journey that empowers you to unlock your full potential and live your best life. It helps you move past challenges and obstacles to clear the path to success. By working with a skilled life coach, you'll gain valuable insights, develop effective strategies, and cultivate the mindset and habits necessary for inner healing, sustainable growth, and success.

Whether you're seeking career advancement, personal growth, improved relationships, overcoming obstacles, or a better work-life balance, a life coach can provide the personalized support and guidance you need to achieve your aspirations. Finding Peace Within Yourself - Rachel Devine

Let’s face it, life has its ups and downs and can sometimes go sideways as well. Life is a journey, and each one of us has different highs and lows. No one can predict what tomorrow will bring, but we can stand firm in our inner foundation of peace. Having this solid inner foundation is key to having peace even during the storms of life.

Annie Dillard put it so succinctly when she said:

“No one escapes the wilderness on the way to the promised land.”

That pretty much says it all. No one will ever find peace in their adverse circumstances or world events. However, we can find peace within. Detaching from the adverse circumstances is important. How you view a certain situation determines how much power it has over you. Keeping a steady diet of peaceful techniques is key to building the foundation to withstand the storms of life and own your power.

7 techniques to build a peaceful foundation within:

How you view a certain situation determines how much power it has over you. Keeping a steady diet of peaceful techniques is key to building the foundation to withstand the storms of life and own your power. These peaceful techniques can transform your life!

Inner Peace Examples.

Inner Peace Examples:

  1. Practice mindfulness and present-moment awareness. Turbulent times often come from dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Mindfulness teaches you to stay grounded in the present moment, observing your thoughts and feelings without judging them. You are safe if you stay focused on the moment. This can help you bypass the mental loops that cause stress.

  2. Cultivate gratitude: Make a conscious effort to appreciate the good things in your life, no matter how small. Gratitude shifts your focus away from problems and allows you to recognize the positive aspects that already exist. Keep a gratitude journal or take time each day to reflect on what you're grateful for.

  3. Practice acceptance: While you can't control everything that happens, you can control how you respond. Accepting circumstances you cannot change with equanimity can bring a sense of peace. Acceptance equals serenity. Additionally, setting strong boundaries with people that disturb your peace of mind is a big step in finding inner peace. You have a choice to detach with love.

  4. Spend time in nature. Being in natural settings has a calming effect on the mind and body. Go for a walk in the park, sit by a lake, or simply observe the clouds passing by. Nature can provide a sense of interconnectedness and perspective and bring much peace into your world.

  5. Engage in relaxation techniques: Practices like deep breathing, meditation, gentle yoga, or progressive muscle relaxation can calm your mind and release physical tension. Find techniques that resonate with you and make them a regular habit. And light a candle to bring some fragrance and light to the mix.

  6. Nurture your spiritual side: Whether through religion, philosophy, or personal beliefs, connecting with a sense of meaning and purpose larger than yourself can bring comfort and grounding during challenging periods. Connecting to your Higher Power, or as I call Him, God, can bring solace during a crisis and peace during any season of life. Connecting to the Spirit within is important to discovering peace and inner support. Remember, God is peace.

  7. Seek social support: confiding in loved ones, joining a support group, or speaking with a therapist or life coach can help you process difficult emotions and gain new perspectives. Be around people who celebrate you. Feeling understood and not alone in your struggles can be immensely therapeutic.

Practicing all or some of these peaceful examples will help you on your quest for serenity. Remember, finding inner peace is a journey, not a destination. Be patient and compassionate with yourself, and trust that even the most turbulent storms will eventually pass. As the old adage says, “this too shall pass,” and it always does.

Your Inner Spirit:

We all have an extraordinary spirit within that brings us much peace and guidance. Our inner spirit directs us on our journey through life in the form of our intuition. When we listen to this inner whisper, we are usually steered away from dangerous situations or brought to joyful ones. The way to listen to this spirit within is through meditation. Meditation will take you from a turbulent day to a peaceful one. Meditation is a way to connect with your inner spirit. Picture the ripples on a brook; the ripples are the turbulence, but if you go beyond the ripples, you will find a peaceful haven in the water where calm awaits you. Incorporating even 10 minutes a day of meditation will change your life into a more serene way of being. It will give your mind a peaceful retreat from the hurried pace of everyday thoughts.

Meditation is one way to find peace in your life.

In conclusion, remember that life has many hills and valleys we must all travel on. However, the key is getting to a point where, no matter what happens in your life, you have a firm foundation of peace within yourself that withstands any storm that comes your way.

Don’t Quit your Daydream: 7 Steps to Manifest your Dreams - Rachel Devine

Life can take us down many different paths. We can go on a path of daily routine, day in and day out of doing the same thing. Or we can recognize a long-forgotten dream sitting on the back burner of our lives that can potentially change the course of our lives. Our hopes and dreams matter. However, sometimes we feel like everyone else around us is more important than ourselves. Self-doubt can also plague us with feeling stifled. I say, quit your daydream! It’s never too late to start fresh with any idea. You can manifest your dreams into reality.

Let’s get started and look into our daydreams.

Our dreams and goals matter. You deserve to live your life on purpose. I say, don’t quit your daydream! It’s never too late to start fresh with any idea. You have the power to turn your dreams into reality.

Let’s get started and look into how we can manifest our dreams.

1. Your daydream

Just recognizing a dream or goal you want to fulfill is the first step to attaining it. I had a manuscript on the back burner for years and finally brought it to the forefront and worked on it. I eventually got my second book self-published, called The Third Road. It was a great achievement and brought me from living on a path of daily routine to branching out to a fulfilling purpose in life. That purpose had a domino effect on other areas of my life where I was able to branch out to other areas with my writing.

2. Your purpose

We all have a reason for being born. It’s a matter of looking at what you love doing and what brings you joy. Your purpose is at the center of what you love doing in life. Your purpose has to have two elements: you have to love doing it, and it has to serve humanity in some capacity. I love writing and helping people, so that has been incorporated into my purpose of writing. Setting time aside to bring your purpose to life will bring you much joy. Just sit and think about what brings you joy, fulfillment and happiness that you love doing. Take your time with this and see what transpires.

Some ways to get started.

  • Do journaling to discover your purpose in life.

  • Read books, blogs, watch talks on finding your calling. See what resonates.

  • Research degree programs, workshops, coaches related to potential paths of purpose.

  • Volunteer in areas connected to your interests and observe how these experiences make you feel.

3. Positive visualization

Positive visualization involves intentionally developing a picture in your mind to practice the performance, feeling, or behavior you desire. The American Psychological Association Dictionary refers to this process as “mentally rehearsing” to enhance performance. Once you decide your purpose in life, visualize it daily. The power of positive thinking is not just some lofty words; it is a surefire way to manifest your dreams into reality. You can visualize what you want to manifest in your daily meditations as a good start. Positive visualization will keep you on track, as you move towards your purpose in life. Just picture in your mind what you want to manifest for a few minutes each day.

4. Manifesting your dreams

The most powerful part of manifesting your dreams is using feelings. Feelings penetrate the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is like the motherboard of a computer. It directs 95% of your decisions and actions in life. Therefore, it’s important to visualize the outcome you want in order for it to penetrate the subconscious mind. As you fall asleep at night, put one visualized picture in your mind of what you want to manifest. For instance, if you want to write a book, put an image of a book that you authored, as if you already wrote it and had it published. Then fall asleep with the feelings of what it feels like to have a published book. You would feel accomplished, fulfilled, happy, etc. The feelings will penetrate the subconscious mind for eight hours as you sleep. The sleep state is powerful because it is the unconscious state where you can penetrate the subconscious mind, where all dreams eventually manifest into reality. The key is to picture one thing as if it already happened and resonate with the feelings.

5. Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are positive phrases, or statements that are used to challenge negative thoughts. People can use positive affirmations to motivate them, encourage positive changes in their life, create a goal, or boost their self-esteem. Positive affirmations are a way to put positive thoughts in your subconscious mind, because they are repeated over and over again. This offsets some negative thoughts that get embedded in our minds. Living a life on purpose entails being positive and affirmations will help you get there.

6. Game Plan

Setting a game plan is imperative to achieving any goal in life. It’s a pathway to get you to your goal or purpose. Once you are able to establish a game plan, you can set some small goals in the direction of developing your purpose. Taking small steps to get to where you want to be in life is a good start. A ‘to do list’ will keep you on track with your game plan. Just list a daily plan that will move you in the direction of your purpose in life.

7. Turn self-doubt into self-confidence

Self-doubt is usually a culprit in stopping one from following their bliss in life. I was plagued with self-doubt many years ago when I started writing. It’s so important to shift away from self-doubt to self-confidence. You can do that by shifting your focus to doing good things for yourself. Show yourself that you are worth a massage, or an expensive dinner out, or flowers, a new outfit, or box seats at a baseball game. When you treat yourself with worthiness, that will carry over to build self-confidence. Take time for self-reflection in this area and put action behind the outcome.

When my self-doubt plagued me years ago, I wrote a poem as a way to help me overcome it. This is the first poem I ever wrote.

When you can feel the warmth of the sunshine but cannot see it.

Or feel the coolness of a gentle breeze but cannot grasp it.

When our dreams are just a fleeting thought, that no longer matters.

Remember to deeply reach within. To stretch your mind,

to awaken the real you, as you say goodnight to self-doubt

and the inner blindness.

Try your own poem, it’s fun and doesn’t have to be perfect.

Remember, you can do whatever you put your mind to. Just take baby steps in the direction of obtaining your dreams.

In conclusion, remember one thing. If you allow your purpose to flourish, you will be fulfilling a gift for yourself and humanity. You want to look back on your life in later years and perhaps see a legacy you left behind. It doesn’t have to be a big lofty legacy, just one that helped someone who needed it. Life can take us down many roads, but the road to fulfilling your purpose and manifesting your dreams, is the best road ever!

The Healing Power of Spirituality for Addictions - Rachel Devine

Addictions afflict millions of people, trapping them in destructive cycles with substances like alcohol, drugs, or behaviors like gambling. Food addiction, specifically in the form of compulsive overeating, binge eating, and eating disorders, is rising rapidly.

The good news is that spirituality and spiritual practices have shown promising benefits for alleviating addictions through connecting to something higher than momentary impulses. Spirituality can help transform your life to one of purpose and freedom from addictions.

The Spiritual Dimension of Addictions

Research has uncovered that addictions often serve to temporarily fill an inner void or provide an escape. As psychology professor Dr. Philip Monroe states, “Addictions start with pain relief but end up causing more pain.” Underneath addictive patterns, there is often spiritual starvation or a longing for purpose and meaning in life.

By nurturing our spiritual needs, we can reduce the risk of harmful addictive behaviors taking root. Spirituality helps satisfy our core human need for inner fulfillment, beyond what any substance or activity can provide.

Inner Child Factor

To go one step deeper, the inner child factor plays a role in addictions. When we don’t get our inner child needs met, we have a a void within as mentioned previously. Some of us fill this void with various addictive substances, including food, drugs, or alcohol. Some fill the void by overworking, gambling or other obsessive behaviors. Filling your own needs with self-love, affirmations, self-care, are all ways to fill the void within with positive energy. This is part of inner child healing. Connecting to your higher power, whom I call God, can also help you fill the inner void.

Benefits of Spiritual Practices

Here are some of the top researched benefits that different spiritual practices offer for healing from addictions:

Meditation and Mindfulness: Meditation helps us connect to inner stillness beneath addictive impulses. One study found that a meditation program reduced alcohol and drug use by 60% in people. Mindfulness also minimizes stress and emotional turmoil that can trigger relapses.

Gratitude: Focusing on blessings counters the scarcity mindsets underlying addiction. People with gratitude journaling practices have been found to be up to 35% less likely to engage in substance abuse. Gratitude practice has a myriad of emotional, as well as physical benefits.

Self-Reflection: Prayer, journaling, or therapy sessions that explore the emotional roots and meaning behind addictions foster self-understanding. This self-insight cultivates compassion and helps align behaviors with values.

Sense of Purpose: Rediscovering a sense of meaning and purpose in life motivates positive change. Volunteer work, acts of service, or exploring passions boost this sense of meaning. One study found that a purpose-centered program successfully prevented alcohol addiction relapse.

Support Groups: 12-step programs and support groups provide a caring community and inspiration to persevere. Feeling understood by others with similar struggles helps mitigate the shame and isolation that feed addictions. Dr. Wayne Dyer, a renowned author of spiritual books said, “The success of 12-step programs lie in the fact that they help one connect to their higher power where there is strength to overcome addictions.”

Continued Commitment to Growth

While spiritual practices cultivate inner fullness and serenity, addictions can be cunning, trying to trick their way back in during moments of weakness. Being committed to personal and spiritual growth, one day at a time, is essential. Continuing on the path of recovery, with some or all of the suggestions will give you strength to overcome the addiction. Remember, there is strength and courage in numbers. 12-step programs is a great fellowship of people who will be supportive.

In closing, the path to overcoming addiction has its ups and downs, but by nurturing our spiritual dimension, we can find the light that guides us through the darkness. This very light brings us through dark times and emerges into the light of hope. Our essential healing waits below the surface of the light, ready to emerge as we open our hearts and connect to life’s deeper meaning.

Why is Dating so Hard? The answer May Shock you. Rachel Devine

If you are part of the dating scene, you know that it is highly dysfunctional. The dysfunction ranges from getting stood up, to connecting with the same dysfunctional person with a different face; perhaps you were ghosted after numerous texts; or you are attracting scammers, and the list goes on and on. Why does something so soulful, loving, and beautiful sometimes turn out to be a disaster? And the answer will surprise you. The answer as to why dating is dysfunctional resides within you. Let’s explore this in detail and see what is happening on the inside that is causing dysfunction on the outside. We want to look at how to break toxic relationship patterns. And we will explore how to attract your soulmate. The power of manifestation is a big factor, so let’s look at all of this together.

If you are part of the dating scene, you know that it can be very hard, at any age. The challenges can range from getting stood up, to continuously connecting with the same type of person; to getting ghosted after numerous texts; or perhaps attracting scammers, and the list goes on and on. Why does something so soulful, loving, and beautiful sometimes turn out to be a disaster? And the answer may shock you. The answer as to why dating is dysfunctional resides within you. Let’s explore this in detail and see what is happening on the inside that is causing dysfunction on the outside. We want to look at how to break toxic relationship patterns. And we will explore how to attract your soulmate and also look at the power of manifestation, which is a big factor in the scheme of dating.

Like attracts like

First off, we attract into our lives what we are resonating with within us. In other words, if you are resonating with angst, stress, and negativity, you are sure to get more angst, stress, and negativity in the dating world and other areas of your life. On the other hand, if you resonate with kindness, love, and a positive attitude, you will attract the same. The law of attraction is clear: like attracts like. However, most of us are wallowing around in negativity when it comes to dating, so the key is to get around that and change your own attitude to fit what you are seeking.

The inner dictates the outer

Believe it or not, how you learned to love from birth to 7 years old is a big component in connecting to true love. Our subconscious mind is storing all that transpired in childhood. Now, to go one step further, the subconscious mind drives our lives 95% of the time! So it stands to reason that we are navigating our life with all that transpired in childhood. This is one of the reasons why most of us continue to attract people who are similar to our father or mother in the dating world.

Example

Here is an example of a pattern from childhood into an adult relationship of a friend of mine. Nancy was a middle child, or, as they call them, the forgotten child. She used to do good deeds to get love from her parents. She would offer to do the dishes, shine her father’s shoes, or help her mother with the housework. That is how she learned how give and receive love, but doing good deeds. This was her way to love from birth until she was 7 years old.

Fast forward to her first relationship. She met a man who was overwhelmed as a single parent with two kids, a demanding job, and financial issues, plus he had a big family that came first in his life. He wasn’t engaged in the relationship at all, and Nancy felt like she had to jump over hoops to get his attention. Nancy tried to help him out by giving him advice about his job, helping him move, and giving him support in any way she could with the children. She didn’t realize it at the time, but she was doing good deeds to get his attention, just like she did when she was a child. She replicated her childhood in this relationship, and he was actually a combination of her father and her mother! This became a pattern for Nancy in her future relationships. A good relationship has to be balanced where both parties get their needs met.

The Fix

The fix is to change part of the subconscious mind. The way to offset the subconscious is to reprogram what it was fed in childhood. The time to do that is at bedtime. As you are going into a sleep state, you are going from a conscious to an unconscious state, which is when the subconscious mind can be reprogrammed. The unconscious state is a powerful one of transformation.

The first step is to decide what you want to change. If you want to meet your soulmate, the most simple way to do this is to imagine being in a balanced, loving relationship with someone and resonating with the feelings. It is the feelings that penetrate the subconscious mind.

An expert in the field of the subconscious mind, Neville Goddard, makes the following statements:

The subconscious never fails to express that which has been impressed upon it. The moment it receives an impression, it begins to work out the ways of its expression. It accepts the feeling impressed upon it, your feelings, as a fact existing within itself and immediately sets about to produce in the outer or objective world the exact likeness of that feeling."

A step-by step guide to manifest your dreams

This is a step-by-step guide on how to change one aspect of the subconscious from a negative to a positive state. We will work on manifesting a good relationship and how to attract your soulmate.

  1. Picture one image of what you want to have in your life as if it were already here. In this case, we are going to manifest a loving relationship.

  2. Picture yourself in a loving, balanced, and happy relationship with a new partner. Just use one image. I suggest an image where you are embracing your future partner or on a date. You don’t have to go into specific details of what is going on or what this person looks like; just imagine being together in a way that makes you feel loved.

  3. You will then resonate with the feelings of being in a healthy relationship. You would feel loved, secure, happy, content, joyful, excited, etc. Remember, it is the feelings that will resonate with you for 8 hours and reprogram the subconscious mind. Love is the strongest emotion to offset any other emotion.

  4. Fall asleep with these wonderful feelings of love and the image in your mind.

  5. Do this for at least 30 days. You will wake up feeling happy, after all you fed your unconscious mind loving thoughts.

Please note that you can do this for anything you want to manifest in your life. If you want to lose weight and get healthy, picture yourself healthy and slim and resonate with those positive feelings as you fall asleep. If you want to get a promotion, picture one image of having a promotion. If you want to increase your wealth, picture being wealthy.

These manifesting techniques will help you manifest your dreams.

    Higher consciousness

You might ask yourself, How can reprogramming my subconscious mind make something I want materialize in my life?

According to many spiritual and philosophical teachings, the subconscious mind is part of a greater universal consciousness, referred to as God, Source, or the Universe. I proudly call this power God, which is the power behind manifestation in all its glory. This higher consciousness, or God, is considered the fabric of reality, and our subconscious mind is believed to be a conduit connecting us to the power of God. In more simple terms, what we feed the subconscious mind with feelings gets imbedded in the subconscious, and God brings it to form. I truly believe this is the powerful secret behind creation in all its magnificent glory and form.

The source of all power comes from our higher power, which is the source of all power in the world. God is the light that shines in our world, which eliminates darkness and brings goodness to form. God’s power is what brings miracles to light, goodness to the world, and hope to mankind. And this same power is what manifests our dreams into reality.

In closing, remember that it is your inner child that is part of the subconscious mind dictating what direction your life is going in. It makes sense to reprogram the negative from childhood into a positive. If you want your life to go in a positive direction, you have to feed it positive thoughts and feelings.

“A change of feeling is a change of destiny." Neville Goddard

Press release for: Discover the Power of the Secret Within: Healing your Inner Child to Manifest your Dreams, Rachel Devine

NEW YORK, NY USA, November 19, 2023/ Independent publishing KDP. Featured on Amazon.

Non-fiction-self-help genre.

This book is about creating yourself anew. It is about discovering the power of the secret within, which is elusive and mysterious. The power within you is a well-kept secret. Most people will not learn about it in their lifetime. It has positively transformed millions of lives. Those who discover the power of the secret within will be richer than any successful billionaire in the world. Therefore, let’s dive into this intriguing notion in detail.

Do you have long-forgotten dreams that you want to make a reality? Do you want to lose weight, start a business, find your soulmate, get a promotion, get healthy, or end an addiction? Well, now is the time to move forward and make your dreams a reality. I will show you exactly how to do this. Make no mistake about it, you have this miraculous power within to create your destiny.

However, there can be blocks to realizing your dreams. There is another power called the subconscious mind that is in charge of almost every decision, every move, and every thought you make in life.  Most people have no idea why they have a chip on their shoulder, or why they keep meeting the same type of dysfunctional romantic partner, or why they have issues at work, or why they have deep-rooted resentments, and the answer lies within. Discovering this aspect of yourself with awareness will empower you to transform your life in a positive way.

Your inner child is part of the power of your subconscious mind, that has been picking up messages way before it was able to fully process what was going on (mentally and emotionally). The subconscious mind holds all your emotions, memories, experiences, traumas, and beliefs from the past. This dual force, the subconscious mind and inner child, drives your life 95% of the time! This is an incredible revelation. I will explore this dual action-packed power in one of my chapters.

I will also link a distinct pattern with our addictions to early childhood interactions and show you why it plays a big factor in determining perhaps your own addictions, or as I call them, vices. I will also show you ways to heal from these vices.

I will help you come to the empowerment state of taking back your life and teach you how to manifest your dreams into reality.

I will also explore grief and how it relates to all of this. Do you ever wonder why losing a beloved dog, or cat, or any kind of pet, makes a person feel as if the grief is more devastating than losing a parent? There is a reason behind that intense grief, which I will address in one of my chapters. Furthermore, not only will you come to understand it, but you will be able to deal better with the pain and grief of losing a loving pet.

We all have choices. One choice is to continue to go about your life in a way that is oblivious to the power of the inner workings, whereas you can just continue to live in an unconscious state of daily routine, accepting limitations in intimate relationships, as well as in your career and other areas, and perhaps allowing fears to dictate what direction your life goes in.

Or, you can become acutely aware of what is going on with your inner child, and your subconscious mind, each a driving force, and actually change the course of your journey in life.

You can learn how to change the way it has a negative impact to a positive impact on your life. Knowledge is power and awareness is the key. I will show you how to change the subconscious imprint that the inner child developed onto your brain in childhood, so you will be liberated from the chains of the negative, inner child influence. This will give you an edge in all areas of your life from dating to career decisions to family interactions.

One of the reasons why dating is so dysfunctional is due to inner dynamics and I will go into very specific details on this and show you ways to overcome this dilemma.

My goal is to help you move forward in areas of your life you thought were not possible. You will also learn the powerful secret on how to shift the subconscious mind to create exactly what you want in life. I will explain, step by step, how this powerful secret within will help you create your destiny. You have the power to manifest anything in life, from success, to wealth, to love, to good health, and so much more. I will guide you on how you can do this. It may sound foreign to you at this time. However, by the time you finish reading this book, you will have an amazing awareness and knowledge of the power of the secret within.

In closing, I want to tell you I am so excited about getting my book published. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but I did it! I self-published my book on KDP, which means I did everything, from the cover, to the interior, and even to some of the editing! The few people that read my book already have been impacted positively by the powerful message. My book has valuable information that most people won’t learn in a lifetime. Embrace this moment, the only one we have, and get my book so you will be among those fortunate people who learn the valuable secret of the power within!

Wake Up Call! It’s Time to Awaken the Real YOU!

We go from one day to the next in the same mundane routine, with no room for fun or happiness. Days become years, and years become decades, and one might look back and see opportunities that were squandered. What do you have on the back burner of your life that you want to do? What is waiting in the wings that can bring you joy and happiness? And the big question is, what is stopping you from living a life of fulfillment and joy? It’s time for a wake-up call and to discover the real you! It’s time to see an aspect of your life you may not be aware of. Let me clarify what I mean and look at some positive thoughts and manifesting methods that can transform your life!

From time to time I think we can all use a wake-up call. Especially when life becomes dull and meaningless. Some of us go from one day to the next in the same mundane routine, with no room for fun or happiness. Let me clarify what I mean in this article and look at some positive thoughts and manifesting methods that can transform your life! Let’s awaken the real you to reality.

The real you

It might sound crazy, but there is a dual power within that drives your life. You may think that you have full control of your life, but the stark reality is that there is something within that is driving your life in a direction that you might not want to go in. That dual inner power is your subconscious mind and inner child. All of your past experiences, traumas, and feelings are locked away in your subconscious mind. Think about this for a moment. To be clear, you can’t consciously access this part of your brain unless you do some subcortical brain work. However, your life is ruled by your subconscious mind 95% of the time! That’s right, all of your decisions and day-to-day routine are directed by your subconscious mind. This is a fact. So the question is, how do you wake up that part of yourself to steer it in the direction you want your life to go? The next question is: how much trauma and bad experiences have you had in the past that are driving your life today? To make it more complicated, the inner child is part of this whole subconscious dilemma.

Example

In order to be more clear about this, let’s look at these examples:

I will never forget this incident, that is an example of fears of abandonment from childhood that are embedded in the subconscious mind. I was walking my dog, Luke, at the time, and there was a white SUV stopped at the corner for the stop sign. The window was open, and I could hear this man screaming at someone on the phone, saying:

“You are never home; we don’t eat together anymore; you don’t cook; you are such a witch” (although he used the b word), and he was berating her.

I am sure that the more he yelled and became angry, the more she retreated and wanted to stay away from him. It was a vicious circle. And I thought to myself, All he wants to say to her is that he is lonely, feels abandoned, and would like to spend more time with her. But I suspect his inner child, feeling hurt and being triggered by her pulling away, is setting off his fear of abandonment issues from his childhood, so he is lashing out with intense anger, reverting to the way he behaved as a child. He was trying to get his needs met, and she was pulling away, so his anger got out of control. The fear of abandonment starts with fear and morphs into intense anger.

Another example is road rage. As you are driving along, perhaps someone dangerously cuts you off, and you go from fear to rage in an instant. The rage is intense and comes out of left field. What is happening at this point is that your inner child is reverting to a time of feeling fear and is triggered by the danger it feels when the car cuts you off. The inner child in turn is erupting with rage. This rage is what is within you that is lashing out in times of danger.

Subconscious work

The subconscious mind is typically embedded with fears, anger, and neediness from the past. There are several ways to do some work on reprogramming the subconscious mind to become a positive state of being. One way is called brainspotting. Brainspotting is a technique done by a professional therapist that is able to clear away parts of trauma from the past so it does not affect your life today, as I just outlined. This is especially helpful for those with PTSD. However, not everyone wants to go through a therapist to clear the channels.

You could also get a life-coach to help you reprogram the subconscious mind. This is a very good option.

Another way would be to offset the negative subconscious thoughts with positive ones. There are several ways to do this that I will outline in the next section.

Positive tools

Visualization and affirmations are a couple of ways to reprogram the subconscious mind. As you are falling asleep, you are going from a conscious to a subconscious to an unconscious sleep state. Many experts agree that this unconscious sleep state is where we can reprogram the subconscious mind. Let’s say you want to get rid of anger from your subconscious mind. You do that by offsetting it with kindness, love and peace.

Here are the steps:

  1. Fall asleep with one image. If you want to be less angry, put an image in your head of you being kind, peaceful, and loving. Love is a strong emotion that offsets many negative ones. You want to keep one image in your mind of you in a loving state as you drift off to sleep.

  2. The feelings are what changes the subconscious mind from anger to love. Let me repeat that. The feelings are what changes the subconscious mind. So you want to resonate with loving, kind feelings as you fall asleep, because these feelings will resonate in your unconscious mind for 8 hours. This is a powerful time for changing the subconscious.

  3. You want to do this at least for 30 days. You will find that the next day you will feel more loving and wake up quite happy after feeding your subconscious with loving thoughts for 8 hours.

Remember, your subconscious mind drives your life 95% of the time, so it makes sense to always feed it positive rather than negative thoughts and feelings.

Manifesting your goals

Manifesting your goals is another aspect of using positive visualizations and feelings to reprogram the subconscious mind. Let’s go one step further with this, and let’s say you want to connect with your soulmate. You would fall asleep with one image of having met your soulmate. You fall asleep with the feelings of how it would feel to be in a relationship with your soulmate. You would feel loved, secure, elated and happy. You want to resonate with these feelings as you drift off to sleep. Again, you would do this for 30 days and see how that works for connecting with your soulmate in your awakened world.

Say you want to lose weight or end an addiction. You can use the same technique as described above for this or anything else you want to manifest in your world. Remember, your subconscious mind drives your life 95% of the time. Feeding it future goals and dreams is a smart way to bring these dreams into your waking world.

In closing, it is important to wake up and recognize the part of you that drives your life most of the time. The real you is buried in many aspects of your past. You want to live your best life, and in order to do that, it is important to get rid of the baggage from the past of resentments, anger, fears, and neediness. There are many layers of negativity from the past that can be cleared away one thought, one feeling, and one day at a time and get you to a point of living your best life.

Affirmations are simple, positive statements of empowerment that can reprogram thinking patterns when repeated consistently. Regularly affirming core beliefs about yourself, abilities, and worthiness shapes reality by training the subconscious mind to manifest confident new mindsets. The benefits of affirmations is priceless. Let’s look at the power of affirmations more closely and see how it can transform your life.

What Are Affirmations?

According to motivational speaker Tony Robbins, “An affirmation is a strong, positive statement that something is already so.” Louise Hay, a pioneer of affirmations, defined them as “a positive statement that asserts your power and worth.”

Affirmations redirect mental focus away from negative, limiting views to construct bold new empowering narratives. With time, the conscious mind absorbs these uplifting messages as subconscious truth. They are positive words that you can put on a sticky note and say them out loud often in your day.

The Power of Affirmations

The power of affirmations lies in the fact that, when done consistently, they can reprogram the subconscious mind from a negative to a positive way of thinking. Affirmations offset past negativity. When you feed your subconscious mind affirmations, it can transform your life to go in the direction of the affirmation. For instance, if you say often enough, “I am successful,” before long, your life will start moving in a successful direction because the subconscious mind directs your life 95% of the time. Therefore, the more positive thoughts that are fed into the subconscious, the more your life will go in a positive direction.

Louise Hay

Louise Hay on Affirmations

Louise Hay was a teacher, healer and successful author. In her book You Can Heal Your Life, Louise Hay wrote: “Affirmations program your subconscious mind and affect all areas of your life.” She suggests affirming ideal futures in present tense to manifest them, always maintaining positivity.

Some of her sample affirmations include:

  • “I am willing to change and grow.”

  • “My life gets more fabulous every day.”

  • “I love, accept, and forgive myself.”

25 positive affirmations to ponder

  • I radiate joy, beauty and passion in all things.

  • Abundance flows freely through me.

  • I am open and receptive to brilliant new ideas.

  • Wisdom guides me to make excellent choices.

  • I forgive those who have harmed me and wish them well.

  • My courage makes me unstoppable.

  • I am healthy, happy, and filled with energy.

  • Every challenge strengthens me. I overcome obstacles with poise.

  • I am boldly becoming my highest and best self.

  • My confidence grows daily like a blossoming flower.

  • I have so much to be grateful for. My life is a blessing.

  • My positive thoughts create positive experiences.

  • Love surrounds me. I am enough.

  • I embrace imperfection - flaws make me beautifully human.

  • My purpose becomes clearer each day. I know my path.

  • Joy radiates from my light within; I spread it generously.

  • I am guided to helpful people and opportunities.

  • Obstacles become opportunities. Setbacks pave the way for comebacks.

  • My needs are generously met with grace and ease.

  • I am safe, peaceful, and free from worry. The universe supports me.

  •  I will incorporate some prayer or meditation today.

  • I will go to sleep with feelings of love resonating in my subconscious mind.

  • I will reach out to someone who could use a friend today, or say a prayer for someone who can use it.

  • I am at peace and do things that invoke peace in my life.

  • I am happy, and when negative thoughts are around, I will offset them with positive thoughts.

Benefits of affirmations

Benefits include increased positivity and optimism - Affirmations focus thinking on uplifting beliefs and attitudes. Here are some more benefits to affirmations:

  • Improved self-esteem and confidence - Affirming one's strengths and worth bolsters self-assurance.

  • Reduced stress and anxiety - Affirmations emphasize empowering capabilities versus worries.

  • Manifest desired change - Affirmations shape subconscious programming to match declared beliefs.

  • Find clarity and direction - Affirming ideals reveals passions and purpose.

  • Foster creativity - Affirming removes mental blocks to tap inspiration.

  • Build healthier habits - Affirming goals imprints new wellness rituals.

  • Strengthen spiritual connection - Affirming oneness, gratitude, and positivity elevates consciousness.

Reciting uplifting mantras trains the subconscious mind to manifest the desired qualities over time. These positive thoughts affirmed will become reality.

Modern psychology verifies that words shape neural pathways. Affirmations leverage this mind-body connection to intentionally rewire limiting patterns. With consistent practice, affirmations create real change as they will navigate the direction your life will go in, and in a sense manifest your destiny.

In closing, remember that positive words have a powerful influence on what direction your life will go in. Recite affirmations several times a day and sit back and watch how the power of positive words will transform your life.

However, as a society, we don’t harness this incredible inner power, and some of us grow into mediocre existences. Let’s take a look at the power of your mind and how it can help manifest your dreams into reality. Let’s look at how to transform your life with your thoughts.

Our thoughts are more powerful than we can truly imagine. Ancient wisdom and modern science confirm that thoughts wield tremendous power to shape our lives and world. By mastering your mindset and programming your subconscious beliefs, you unlock the ability to manifest your ideal existence. However, as a society, we don’t harness this incredible inner power, and some of us grow into mediocre existences. Let’s take a look at the power of your mind and how it can help manifest your dreams into reality. Let’s look at how to transform your life with your thoughts.

Powerful thoughts

According to psychology trailblazer William James, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.” Our interpretations and beliefs surrounding circumstances drive outcomes more than events themselves.

The power of our thoughts has the ability to transform our lives into one of purpose and meaning. The key is to feed the mind positive, motivational thoughts. This will lay the groundwork for success in any area. Afterall, I think at the core of everyone is a desire to live life on purpose. It all starts with the power of your thoughts.

Subconscious programming

Over 95% of our behaviors operate from the subconscious, according to experts. This is an astounding revelation. Our subconscious mind holds all our past experiences, traumas and feelings. The conscious mind only controls about 5% of our life. Therefore, most of our lives are going in the direction of past thoughts and feelings. However, you can change the subconscious mind to a positive one. This means deliberately impressing empowering and positive beliefs into your subconscious mind to create a successful and purposeful life.

Joseph Murphy author of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind said, “Whatever your conscious mind assumes and believes to be true, your subconscious mind will accept and bring to pass. Believe in good fortune, divine guidance, right action, and all the blessings of life.”

Therefore, it is crucial to feed your subconscious mind positive thoughts. The more you focus on lack, dread, or fear, the more lack, dread, and fearful situations will come into your life. On the other hand, if you constantly feed your mind positive, motivational thoughts, your life will go in positive, motivational directions. This is the manifesting law of attraction premise. What we put out into the vast universe through thoughts and words comes back to us, like we are in an echo chamber.

Manifesting method

Neville Goddard was a genius in the field of subconscious mind. He said this powerful quote in his book, Feeling is the Secret.

“The conscious generates ideas and impresses these ideas on the subconscious; the subconscious receives ideas and gives form and expression to them. Ideas are impressed on the subconscious through the medium of feelings. No idea can be impressed on the subconscious until it is felt, but once felt – be it good, bad, or indifferent, - it must be expressed.” (By the subconscious into form).

The most powerful time to impress upon the subconscious mind is at night, just before you fall asleep. Imagine one image in your mind of what you want to manifest, and fall asleep with the feelings. For instance, if you want to meet your soulmate, envision one image with your soulmate already in your life and fall asleep with the feelings of love, security, happiness, etc. Your motivation thoughts before bedtime is the key. It is recommended to do this every night for 30 days to manifest your dreams into reality.

Manifesting tools

Commit to rituals that keep your conscious mind filled with positive affirmations, visualizations, inspiration, and mindfulness. Meditation, expressing gratitude, reading uplifting works, repeating mantras—these habits sustain focus on creating your ideal life.

Affirmations are positive words that will impress your subconscious. Write a few on a sticky note and post them where you can view them daily. Visualizations are a perfect way to empower you. Just visualize the outcome you want in a meditation. For instance, if you want to lose weight, imagine yourself slim. Or if you want to stop an addiction, envision yourself free from the addiction. Invoke feelings into your visualization because it is the feelings of the thoughts that penetrate the subconscious mind.

Gratitude is always at the center of success. Always resonate with being grateful for what you have rather than complaining about what you don’t have. Remember, you will attract what you are resonating with.

In conclusion, with this enormous awareness, you can shift to a different way of thinking. Positive thinking, visualizations, affirmations, and being grateful are tools in order to create the life of your dreams. The life you imagine through empowering thoughts, energizing beliefs, mindfulness, and repetition grows ever more concrete. Never underestimate the magic within your mind.

And this great quote by Norman Vincent Peale sums it up beautifully, “Change your thoughts and you change your world.”

Most people have no idea why they have a chip on their shoulder, why they keep meeting the same type of dysfunctional romantic partner, why they have issues at work, or why they have deep-rooted resentments, and the answer lies within. Discovering this aspect of yourself with awareness will empower you to transform your life in a positive way.

Inner Child

Your inner child is your feelings, traumas, and anger that are part of the power of your subconscious mind, which has been picking up messages way before it was able to fully process what was going on (mentally and emotionally). Your inner child usually didn’t get their needs met as a baby, and this plays havoc in adulthood in so many ways.

Subconscious mind

The subconscious mind holds all your emotions, memories, experiences, traumas, and beliefs from the past. This dual force, the subconscious mind and inner child, drives your life 95% of the time! This is an astounding fact, and yet most people have no idea what is going on inside. Therefore, your actions, 95% of the time, are driven by your subconscious mind. Just to bring this down to simple terms: When you get up each morning and, as a routine, brush your teeth, eat breakfast, and check your emails, this is all done by the subconscious mind. Most of your decisions are also dictated by your subconscious mind.

Healthy or unhealthy

The big question now is: Is your inner child healthy or unhealthy? If you didn’t get your primary needs met between the infant stage and 7 years old, then your subconscious mind is not well. This means you could have relationship, work, or family issues. Having this awareness and awakening the inner child is the first step to healing. Once you can recognize what transpired in childhood, you will start to see patterns in your adult decisions and experiences.

Healing

Healing is possible if you change some of the negativity of the subconscious mind to one of positivity. It stands to reason that if you had any trauma from the past, it will get imbedded in your subconscious mind as an imprint and will unleash itself at different times of trigger in your life.

As an example, you may have grown up with some abandonment issues from a parent who was not there for you during little league games and other important events in your life. You may not have gotten the love you deserved. The child becomes angry but usually can’t get in touch with the anger, so it gets repressed. It sits in the body and subconscious mind. Now, as an adult, this person drinks alcohol and becomes violent towards his partner because the repressed anger is unleashed during drunken episodes.

Solutions

It’s possible to heal the subconscious mind by getting therapy from an inner child expert who will help you get in touch with repressed anger. There are also fear issues that are imbedded in the subconscious in various forms. Again, a therapist can help with this as well. Also, listening to some videos that help replace fears with love or those that help release repressed anger can also help. However, one thing is very clear: if you have anger issues or fears, they usually stem from the inner child’s past experiences. Even clearing one issue can transform your life for the better.

Manifesting for healing

A gentle and easy way to heal from inner child wounds is manifestation. It is a way to clear the subconscious mind of anger or fears. Manifestation before you fall asleep is a power technique because the mind is at its most powerful just as you are falling asleep. What you feed it can change the subconscious mind because you are going from a conscious to an unconscious state when you are asleep. This is the most powerful time. Your mind has 8 hours to resonate with what you put in it. You want to feed it with feelings of love if you want to overcome hate or courage to overcome fear. Whatever the adult emotional problem, you want to offset it with the positive opposite emotion. Manifesting is powerful.

Just picture an image of the positive emotion you want to inject into your subconscious mind and fall asleep with the positive feelings of the emotion. If you want to invoke love into your subconscious mind, perhaps fall asleep to an image of a heart and resonate with loving feelings. It is a way to change one layer of the subconscious mind so you will be able to reach your life goals of losing weight, being successful, or having good relationships.

In closing, awareness is the key to helping you clear up some inner child issues that can be causing havoc in your adult life. Once you have the awareness, you have choices on healing, from a therapist to perhaps a life coach to manifesting techniques. I suggest you don’t just walk away from this awareness. Rather, embrace it and start healing your inner child today so you can live the life of your dreams.

Battling Addiction: 5 Ways to Break the Cycle - Rachel Devine

Addiction takes a powerful hold physically, mentally, and emotionally. But no matter how hopeless it may seem, many paths exist to escape addiction’s grasp. It requires courage, honesty, and using every resource at your disposal. The challenges we face in life can be overwhelming. However, adding an addiction to your life will bring more challenges. There are solutions to addictions.

The first step is honestly recognizing that you have an addiction that is challenging you. It could be a food addiction, nicotine, or perhaps alcoholism. Whatever the addiction, the first step is admitting you are powerless and that your life has become unmanageable. This is the first step in any 12-step program.

Addiction takes on many forms, from food to work to drugs, nicotine, and so much more. Addiction can take a powerful hold physically, mentally, and emotionally. But no matter how hopeless it may seem, many paths exist to escape addiction’s grasp. It requires courage, honesty, and using every resource at your disposal. The challenges we face in life can be overwhelming. However, having an addiction in your life will bring more challenges. There are solutions to battling our vices and ways to find happiness in the obstacles.

The first step is honestly recognizing that you have an addiction that is challenging you. Whether it is a food addiction, nicotine, or perhaps alcoholism, these are all life-threatening vices. Whatever the addiction, the first step is admitting you are powerless and that your life has become unmanageable. This is the first step in any 12-step program. Coming to terms with the vice you have is key to breaking the addiction.

Your story

Look at your story when it comes to addiction. If you are trying to lose weight or get off sugar and your story goes like this, “I tried everything to lose weight and give up sugar and nothing is working," you might want to change that story to, “I am willing to do anything to get this weight off and stop eating sugar." You see the big difference, from a negative standpoint to a positive one. Make no mistake about it; your life will move in a positive direction if you feed it positive words. This will help transform your life.

Another example would be, “I can’t stop drinking; it’s in my genes and a generational curse.” This can be changed to say, “I have to look at avenues other people have taken to stop drinking and implement them in my life now.”

No matter how bleak your situation is, it’s better to have a positive viewpoint than a negative one. The positive one will propel you in the direction of healing.

12-step program

Once you admit you have a problem, the next step is to seek professional help or join a 12-step program. There are programs such as AA for alcoholism, NA for nicotine addictions, and OA for overeaters. There are online resources for any 12-step program you seek help with. 12-step programs have been helpful for millions of people. Therapy is also a great way to get help for addictions. Having a life coach in your corner can help as well.

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.” John Pierpont Morgan

Remove Temptations

Cut ties with toxic relationships or environments that trigger substance use. Avoiding bars, parties, bakeries, or places frequented when engaging in addiction reduces temptation and reminds you how far you’ve come. Perhaps you want to engage with new friends in a 12-step program. Also, try to keep healthy food in your home; get rid of the alcohol or anything else that will tempt you to stay with the vice. This will make it a little easier.

Adopt healthy habits.

Recovery succeeds best when built on positive new routines like meditation, exercise, journaling, prayer, or music. Simple, healthy daily practices ground you. Channel cravings into these activities instead. Exercise helps activate endorphins, which help people feel good without substances or food. A great tool is to reach out and help someone else. When we help others with their addiction, we find it helps us to take our minds off our own issues, and doing so aides in recovery. Reaching out to help others is a staple in the 12-step world. Prayer is also a way to bring positive energy into your world and stay in faith.

Redirect Thoughts

When addiction cravings surface, immediately shift attention to something positive. Call a friend, play with a pet, work on a hobby, or go for a walk. Refocusing your mind is a skill developed over time. I went to Nicotine Anonymous years ago when I stopped smoking. I remember using a rubber band on my wrist. I would pull the rubber band and gently get a jolt that shifted my thoughts away from wanting to have a cigarette. However, I also incorporated exercise and the nicotine patch to help me with my own vices. The 12-step fellowship really helped me too.

In closing, battling addiction requires absolute commitment, courage to change, and consistent hard work. But it’s important to take that first step: admit there is a problem and seek help. Keep fighting the good fight. The path to recovery starts with ending the denial. You have the power to reclaim your life. The health benefits may add years to your life with your family.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things we cannot change. Courage to change the things we can. And the wisdom to know the difference.

Let’s look at seven steps to heal from the past.

Painful experiences from childhood or past trauma can cast a shadow over your present-day happiness. It can haunt you for decades. There could be blocks that stop you from moving forward in life due to negative voices in your head that instill fear of repeating the same mistake or falling into the same pitfall. Any past trauma or pain usually gets embedded in the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is very powerful since it directs your life 95% of the time. It makes sense to try to clear some clutter from your mind in order to move forward in life with ease. Through intentional work, you can process old wounds, shift limiting beliefs, and clear subconscious blocks to transform your outlook. The goal is to reach a point of living a happy life.

Let’s look at seven steps to heal from the past.

Awareness

The first step to healing from the past is to have awareness of what might be blocking you from moving forward in life with ease and happiness. I suggest you sit in quiet contemplation and think about what is happening in your life and what transpired in the past that may be causing conflict. Listen to your thoughts. If you continuously have a negative dialogue playing out in your head, that is a clear sign that the past is haunting your present-day peace. Listen to those voices and allow them to come to the surface.

Tell your story

When you speak your story out loud, it loses its power over you. We are only as sick as our secrets. Bringing any past trauma to the light of day helps dissolve its hold on you. You can tell a therapist or a friend. 12-step programs are so valuable and give one the space to speak about past experiences in order to heal from them. There are 12-step programs for most issues, like alcoholism, emotional disorders, smoking, gambling, and the list is endless.

Let go of blame

No matter what happened in the past, blame is not going to help. In fact, a really good practice is forgiveness. When you hold onto past hurts and don’t forgive, the energy gets lodged in the body and causes stress-related illnesses. The venom seeps into your veins with vengeance. The attitude is forgiveness. Forgiveness clears the venom and gets rid of the resentments. Don’t allow someone from the past to continue to victimize you in the present by not forgiving them. Forgive them and let go of the pain. Forgiveness equals happiness.

Release past emotions

Trauma is stored physically and energetically in the body. It is important to release the negative energy that gets lodged in different areas of the body from past trauma. Try therapeutic techniques like EMDR, tapping, massage, or yoga to discharge stuck emotions and reintegrate them. Brain spotting is an amazing way to unlock stored trauma from the subcortical brain, and it clears the area of the trauma.

Reclaim your power

Ultimately, healing requires realizing you are not broken or defined by the past. You have the power to clear inner blocks, rewrite your story, and manifest a joyful life aligned with your highest self. Glancing at the past to heal is a positive step. Lamenting over past hurts is unproductive. Don’t allow the past to define who you are today. We all make mistakes, and life happens in a way that is sometimes unexplainable. Define yourself as a child of God who is worthy of all that life has to offer you. Remember, the power is within you.

Clear the channels

A good way to clear the subconscious mind of trauma is through manifesting techniques. Before you fall asleep at night, pick one image of what you would like to clear from your mind. If you want to clear fear, you would pick an image of love and courage. Love is a very powerful emotion that offsets negative ones. Or if you want to clear past emotional wounds, pick an image of you feeling emotionally happy. Or if you want to clear past physical abuse wounds, imagine a life with peace and calm. We can overshadow the negative in the subconscious mind with powerful positive emotions. Once you pick the image, you fall asleep with the feelings that invoke positivity. Your subconscious mind will resonate with the positive feelings for 8 hours, and this will be one layer of healing in that area. You have the power to transform your life with much healing.

Affirmations

Positive affirmations are another way to change past negativity into positivity. Just write out a few positive affirmations on a sticky note and post them where you can see them. Say them out loud, often. The positive energy will overshadow past negative feelings. Continue to do this every day. Some wonderful affirmations are, I am worthy, I am loved, I am forgiven, I am a child of God, etc.

As spiritual teacher Matt Kahn advised, “Whatever you have gone through, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And it is you.” You must take the first step toward your goal. Then healing will unfold one breath, one moment at a time, through the courage to face and release the past.

One of my favorite authors and healer, Louise Hay said, “You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that. We think so often that we are helpless, but we're not. We always have the power of our minds. Claim and consciously use your power."

With perseverance and the light of hope, old pain will lose its grip on you. Underneath the shadows of your past, there is a wonderful and amazing person waiting to emerge. Like a caterpillar experiences transformation into a beautiful butterfly, you can also transform your life into one of beauty and strength. And when you do, you will discover who you were always meant to be. Your renewed path ahead awaits.

Follow Your Dreams: And don’t let Anything Sway You - Rachel Devine

Following your bliss in life can be so rewarding. Pursuing your dreams brings so much joy. As they say, follow your dreams, they know the way! Choosing your path in life is crucial. Transforming your life with purpose is the single most fulfilling thing you can accomplish in life. And yet, there are obstacles that arise and people of opposition that bring us down rather than lift us up. We can also become our worst enemy in pursuing our dreams with self-doubt.

It took me a lifetime to get to where I am today. Perseverance is crucial to creating a life of your choosing. Staying in it for the long haul is also crucial.

There are not too many overnight success stories. Most famous people will laugh if you say they are instant success stories, when in actuality, many of them took decades and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to achieve their dreams.

Let’s explore this a little deeper. I am going to show you how to accomplish your dreams with 5 steps.

There are not too many overnight success stories. Most famous people will laugh if you say they are instant success stories, when in actuality, many of them took decades and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to achieve their dreams.

Let’s explore this a little deeper. I am going to show you how to manifest your dreams with 5 steps.

Pursuing your dreams

The first step is to define what your dreams are. What do you want to pursue in your lifetime? What legacy would you like to leave?

The next step is to look at your story. What are you saying about your dreams?

Here are two examples:

  1. I want to become a writer, but I know it is an impossible journey.

  2. I want to become a writer, and I am excited about all the possibilities before me.

As you can see, there is a stark difference between 1 and 2. You have to have a positive outlook on the dream you want to pursue. Actually you have to have a positive attitude on anything you want to achieve in life. If you start out with the attitude that becoming a writer is an impossible journey, then your life will go in a negative direction. It will be like being in a circular driveway, driving furiously and getting nowhere. If you are excited about becoming a writer and open to all avenues and possibilities, your life will go in a positive direction, and opportunities will arise. Plus, the law of attraction will kick in, as positive thoughts will bring positive results.

Be steadfast

Don’t allow anyone to sway you out of your dream. Remember, it is your life; you want to live it your own way. I would also say don’t allow your own self-doubt to sway you out of your dreams. Sometimes we can be our worst enemy. Stay the course and do what you love doing, irrespective of what you think others are thinking about you. Their opinion really doesn’t matter. Honestly, some people will be envious of your non-conformity. Nonetheless, stay in your own space and in your own head. And know in your heart that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. It's that raw inner determination that will get you to where you want to be in life. Be as stubborn as you can when it comes to fulfilling your dreams on the journey you have chosen. Afterall, life is meant to live in happiness.

Famous inspiration

Louise Hay started a very successful publishing company called Hay House at the age of 62! She started it in her home in order to publish her first manuscript. She pursued her dream in her golden years without reservations. She just forged ahead and formed a very successful publishing company that has published books by such famous authors as Wayne Dyer and Cheryl Richardson.

Steve Harvey was told at the age of 10 by his teacher that he should give up his dream of being on television to make people laugh. He had written an essay about it. When he told his father, his father told him, “put the essay in your drawer and read it every day. You can be whoever you make your mind up to be.”

For years, Steve Harvey struggled to get his big break as a comedian, performing at small clubs across the country. He was homeless for several years, sleeping in his 1976 Ford when he couldn't afford hotels. However, he persevered, saying he discovered his gift for making audiences laugh during this difficult time.

In the late 1980s, he started gaining attention and appearing on TV shows like Showtime at the Apollo. His popularity grew through the 1990s as he toured as a standup comedian. Eventually, he landed a role as host of Showtime's Steve Harvey Show, which brought him national fame. In 2010, his career took off when he was asked to be the host of Family Feud. Steve was 53 years old when he got his big break.

The power of a written intention

Just as Steve Harvey wrote an essay about his goal of becoming a comedian, Jim Carrey also did something similar in line with the power of a written intention.

Before he ever achieved fame as an actor and comedian, Jim Carrey was struggling to make ends meet in the 1980s as a young comic trying to catch a break. He lived in a VW van in Los Angeles for a period, chasing his dreams but not seeing results.

According to Carrey, one day he became frustrated and decided to write himself a $10 million check dated for 10 years in the future and write the note “for acting services rendered” on it. He carried the check in his wallet as a reminder of his goal to become a star. He also envisioned himself as a famous actor, having all the luxuries that came with fame and fortune.

However, just as he had written in his intention years earlier, 1994 proved to be Carrey’s breakout year. He earned over $20 million combined just from his acting work, finally realizing his dream. To Carrey, the big check he envisioned years prior and his unwavering belief manifested his massive success. His story is a popular example demonstrating the power of a written intention.

“It is better to risk starving to death than to surrender. If you give up on your dreams, what's left?" Jim Carrey

Your legacy

It’s important to look at the whole picture of your life and what kind of legacy you want to leave. It can be something big and grand or something smaller. We don’t all have to become like Mother Teresa, helping the lepers in the world. You might want to pursue a way to help the homeless. You can volunteer in a soup kitchen. Or you might want to pursue a career in writing or acting. Or maybe you want to coach Little League or become a big brother for a fatherless child.

Whatever you decide you want to do in life, just do it. You can ask yourself these three questions:

Where am I now with my dream?

Where do I want to be with my dream in a year?

What can I do now to get to where I want to be?

Getting started now is the key to getting to where you want to be in life. My second book, The Third Road, was on the backburner for years until one day I decided I was going to finish it and self-publish it. I didn’t want to be at the mercy of a publisher, so I just forged ahead, worked day and night until I got it published myself. Sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns in life. That project was not an easy task, but it was one of the most rewarding things I ever accomplished in my life. And in turn, it helped me follow my bliss.

You deserve to live a life of bliss. Keep forgiving ahead. Remember, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.

When I was plagued with self-doubt when I started writing back in 1997, this was the first poem I wrote:

When you can feel the warmth of the sunshine

but cannot see it

Or feel the coolness of a gentle breeze

but cannot grasp it

When your dreams are just a fleeting thought that no longer matters

Remember to deeply reach within, to stretch your mind to awaken the real you,

as you say goodnight to self-doubt and the inner blindness

Fear and Love: They can’t Live in the Same House, by Rachel Devine

With all that is happening in the world, fear has become a dominant emotion in a lot of people's minds. From the war in Israel to the crisis at our border to the crime in our streets, and through a pandemic, fear has taken over our inner world. Fear can be crippling. It can keep us locked away in our homes and stop us from living a joyful life. It could feel like you have to climb an emotional mountain to get out of your home. However, there is a more powerful emotion called love that is much more potent than fear. Fear and love cannot coexist. It’s crucial to choose love over fear.

Here is an amazing quote on this topic:

As opposites, love and fear cannot be felt at the same time. As Kübler-Ross and Kessler say, "If we're in fear, we are not in a place of love." “When we're in a place of love, we cannot be in a place of fear. Can you think of a time when you've been in both love and fear?”

With all that is happening in the world, fear has become a dominant emotion in a lot of people's minds. From the war in Israel to the crisis at our border to the crime in our streets, and through a pandemic, fear seems to have taken over our inner world. Fear can be crippling. It can keep us locked away in our homes and stop us from living a joyful life. It could feel like you have to climb an emotional mountain to get out of your home. There is, however, a more powerful emotion called love that is much more potent than fear. Fear and love cannot coexist. It’s crucial to choose love over fear. You have the power within to turn this around.

Therefore, fear and love cannot live in the same house. Let's take a look at fear and love more closely.

Fear

Fear is a debilitating emotion that can be overwhelming. It all starts with worry, which turns into fear, which can turn into a petrified fear, which in turn can morph into paranoa. This is when fear is at its worse.

Fear has been classified as, false events appearing real. The purpose of this acronym is to bring the fear down to size so it is not so overwhelming. This tells us that fear is appearing in the mind, but not necessarily in reality. Sometimes our fears are much bigger than the actual thing we are fearing. It’s important to distinguish the truth about fear so it can lose its grip on you.

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

This is a profound quote; however, fear can be very real for the person who is experiencing it. Reading loving literature can help. Perhaps some motivational quotes can help you shift from fear to love.

Love

They say love is the opposite of fear. Love is a much more powerful emotion than fear. In fact, love conquers all fears.

As the Bible tells us, There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18.

Whatever the problem, love is the answer. The emotion of love is very strong. It can move us from a state of fear into a state of love and peace. The love I am talking about, is the love of God. The love of God is powerful beyond measure. Staying in a loving state with God by your side should alleviate any fears. Make no mistake about it, you have the power to overcome any fearful obstacles in your life.

In the book, A Course in Miracles there is a famous quote at the end that says, “If you knew who walked besides you on the path that you have chosen, fear would be impossible.” The power that walks besides you is the spirit of God, which is actually within you. You have God’s Spirit within you, so fear is impossible, if you connect to that loving Spirit.

Faith

I believe love goes hand in hand with faith. God is love. I also think that you can't be in fear if you are in faith. Having faith in the higher power of your understanding will help you get out of fear. Letting go and letting God is a really great slogan that reminds us to let go of our fears and worries and hand them over to God, who will handle them. Having faith and staying in prayer will offset any fears. Praying will help you stay in the moment and in a loving state of mind, which will offset any fears. This in turn will transform your life to one of love.

Staying in the Moment

When you stay in the moment, there really is nothing to fear. The moment is a place where our fears cannot enter, because our fears usually entail thinking about past traumatic events or future worries. Staying in the here and now puts you in a safe and loving space. Remember, the fear is in your mind, so the solution is also in your mind. And remember, the only place you can connect to God is in the moment. God is not in the past or the future, but in this very moment.

The Power of Positive Thinking

There is an amazing book called "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. The premise is pretty simple. What you focus your attention on will have power in your life. If you are resonating with fear, then fearful situations will appear. If you are resonating with being positive and thinking of positive outcomes for the fearful situation, that is what will appear in your life. Many people underestimate the power of our thoughts to create our world. However, your thoughts have power beyond comprehension. The power of positive thinking is a reality, not some lofty title in a book.

Just envision a perfect outcome for your fearful situation and keep that focus every day in a short visual. Not only will the fear vanish, but you will also be putting energy into the world to bring about a positive result. The law of attraction then kicks in and does its job. The law of attraction is very clear, as it states, "Like attracts like," and what we think about expands. Therefore, it is dangerous to stay in a fearful state because you will inadvertently bring more things into your life to be afraid of. Stay in love, have faith, and have positive thoughts, and that will offset any fears.

In conclusion, we do live in a world of uncertainty and fear. However, how you view the world is the key to having love or fear rule your day. To put this in perspective, we know we can't stop the war in our world or the terrible situation with crime. However, we can stay in our own emotional shelter under God's tent. God’s protection is powerful. We can put ourselves in a loving and faithful emotional state in prayer.

In Psalms 46:1–6, God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths, even if the seas roar and rage and the hills are shaken by the violence.

Norman Vincent Peale says it all in this amazing quote:

"Change your thoughts, and you change your world." That says it all.

This article will help you answer the question, “What is Your Passion in Life?” Let’s look at how to find your passion and purpose.

“The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away,” advised philosopher David Viscott. Your passions contain pointers to the gifts only you can give. Let’s explore what’s your passion?

Your Interests and Talents

What activities energize you and what skills come naturally? Make a list of your interests, strengths, and talents. Common themes will emerge that reveal core passions. Pay attention to what really makes you feel passionate in life. Also, think about what you love doing. What you love doing is also at the core of your purpose in life.

Trying New Experiences

Step outside your comfort zone to experiment with new hobbies, classes, groups, and adventures related to your passions. Join a cooking course, photography club, or an art class, or perhaps a creative writing workshop. Actively sampling the array of possibilities will help you uncover your passion in life. This is the start to transforming your life with meaning.

Immersing Yourself

Don’t just dabble in potential passions, but fully immerse yourself to see what resonates. Spend a summer volunteering at an animal shelter if you love animals. Study jazz piano if that lights you up. Join an extensive art class. Your most vital passions will emerge and you will feel like you are coming back to a familiar home. This will bring you much happiness.

Reconnecting with Childhood Joy

Think back to what activities deeply engaged you as a child. Was it painting, building treehouses, being around animals, or putting on shows? Revisiting these childhood passions reminds you of who you are at your core. Do a short meditation on what life was like as a child and just let your thoughts focus on your childhood and see what comes up in your thoughts.

Purposeful Planning

Once you’ve identified a primary passion, strategically align your life with it. Make time for immersing yourself in what you love daily. Set big goals around how to contribute your talents to the world. Integrate your passion into career, relationships and lifestyle intentionally. Start up a new business, or volunteer your time, or perhaps you want to become a life coach. Whatever you are passionate about, you can start to make strives to bring to the world. The joy will be in the discovery, as well as the journey.

In Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, Excuses Begone, Dr. Dyer defined passion as: “A vigorous enthusiasm that you feel deep within you. It propels you in a direction that seems motivated by a force beyond your control. It's the inner excitement of being on the right path, doing what you know you were meant to do.”

As mythologist Joseph Campbell advised, “Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before.”

When your life aligns with inner passion, you thrive and flourish in wondrous ways. Discovering your passion in life will bring you much happiness and inner peace. Let passion light the path to transform your life to an enrichment beyond your wildest dreams. This guide will help you manifest your dreams into your reality.

Transform your Life with Purpose Rachel Devine

Research shows that living your life with purpose is linked to living longer. Researchers surveyed nearly 7,000 older adults on the correlation between mortality rate and finding your purpose. Participants who did not have a sense of meaning in their lives were more than twice as likely to die prematurely as those who were living out their purpose in life. Having a sense of purpose also reduced the incidence of cardiovascular incidents like heart attack and stroke. Having a purpose is also essential for fulfillment in life and brings happiness. People are genuinely happy when they are living life on purpose. Making an impact on your world and the world around you is one of the most rewarding things you can do in life. Contributing to society, even on a small level, is a way of leaving a legacy.

Everything in life has purpose. As far back as the fourth century BC, Aristotle was pondering life’s purpose and developing his theory of teleology, which is the idea that everything in life has purpose. In today’s fast-paced world, where we are being pulled in many directions simultaneously, finding your purpose in life seems more important now than ever before. I will show you how to find your purpose and passion in life. Most of us are searching for meaning in life. Finding your path, have a personal mission in life, and having a sense of direction, is a positive way to go through this spiritual journey in life.

Sense of Direction

Everything in life has a purpose. There is a rhythm to earth that has a sense of direction. And yet, because of our busy lifestyle our reason for being created eludes many of us. I will show you how to find your purpose and passion in life. Most of us are searching for meaning in life. Finding your path, having a personal mission in life, and having a sense of direction, is a positive way to go through this spiritual journey. Remember we are just passing through and we want are existence to have some meaning.

This is one of my favorite quotes:

“Our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter, so that the world will be at least a little bit different for our having passed through it.” Harold Kushner

Finding your Calling

However, finding your calling may be easy for some and hard for others. Transforming your life to one of purpose might be elusive to some people. And the reason can simply be you have not put any focused effort on it, because of the fast-pace of your life. And it doesn’t matter how old you are, purpose can come early in life or later on. Louise Hay didn’t start her successful publishing company until she was in her late 50’s. And Betty White was living out her purpose of being an actress, well into her 90’s. The most important thing is that purpose is revealed to you and this is usually, in God’s time. Finding your calling, at any age, is beneficial in so many ways.

To make it easier for you, I created an online course called, Transform your Life with Purpose. This is a step-by-step guide on how you can discover a purpose that is taylor-made just for you.
